Training – FAQs

Confused? Let’s help you out.

How do I register for training?

Submit an enquiry form with information about your training needs. Your details will then be transferred to the Regional co-ordinator, who will call to discuss your requirements, set a date for training and provide you with the information you need to book your staff onto the sessions.

Is the training free?

Absolutely! Although if for any reason you need to cancel training please ensure we are provided with at least 24hrs notice otherwise there may be a charge of £25 to cover associated costs with planning training sessions.

Is this training available for our service users / customers / clients / tenants?

Unfortunately not – this training is open to frontline staff and volunteers of organisations only as it aims to give people the skills to support others to get online rather than provide lessons for people who need support.

Do we need to provide a venue?

Venues must be provided. Please ensure that there is access to reliable, stable Wi-Fi and a suitable training space is available. A venue check will be carried out by your allocated trainer prior to training taking place. If you are finding it difficult to source a suitable venue or you are a small organisation, please get in touch as we may be able to join you up with others who need support.

What support can we expect afterwards?

We have a range of ongoing CPD modules which staff are welcome to attend. We can also develop bespoke training tailored to your organisational needs. Staff attending training will have access to a collaborative space where they can get support from our trainers and other staff across Wales. We have access to an extensive library of training resources that can support people to get online which staff will be given access to. We are happy to offer lunch time CPD events on a range of topics. Get in touch for more information.

What level of IT competence do staff need before attending these sessions?

You don’t need to be an IT whizz to access these sessions. You do need to have a basic level of understanding of IT and the internet. These sessions are not aimed at beginners nor should be used as a substitute for IT training for work related tasks. (NB: If you do need support with this we can signpost you to people who can help).

Digital Unite have resources for novice and intermediate users.
