At Digital Communities Wales we’ve been working hard to develop online digital inclusion training courses, including webinars and digital drop-in sessions that might be vital to you and your service users going forward.

Online Safety – 15th September 2021 | 10am

This session will be delivered in English.

This webinar will:

  • Discuss ways to stay safe online.
  • Raise awareness of online scams, including examples of real scams.
  • Discuss fake news and how to identify reliable information.

Online Welsh Language Support – 15th September 2021 | 2pm

This session will be delivered in Welsh.

In this webinar we will:

  • Discover ways to improve your Welsh online.
  • Looking at how we can use the web to strengthen our Welsh language skills.
  • See what tools are available online to enhance our written and spoken Welsh.

Learning Welsh with digital tools – 21st September 2021 | 2pm

This session will be delivered in English.

Part of Adult Learners’ Week

In this webinar we will:

  • Discuss the history of the Welsh language and how it has overcome cultural changes.
  •  Show you a variety of resources that are available to help you develop your Welsh language skills, whether you’re a beginner, intermediate or advanced learner.
  • Demonstrate ways of immersing yourself in Welsh when using the internet.

Keeping Occupied – 22nd September 2021 | 10am

This session will be delivered in English.

This webinar will:

  • Discuss the importance and benefits of keeping occupied.
  • Give an overview of digital options for keeping the people you support occupied including: Art & Creativity; Gaming; Identifying Nature; Mindfulness & Meditation; Music & Audio; Social Media; Quizzes & Puzzles; Reminiscence; and Video.

Digital Health and Well-being – 22nd September 2021 | 2pm

This session will be delivered in Welsh.

This webinar will look at various apps and digital tools to help maintain health and well-being. The session is based on the NHS 5 ways to well-being which are:

  • Connect – maintaining good relationships through communication is important
  • Be Active – being physically active improves mental health well-being
  • Keep Learning – learning new skills via free online learning
  • Give – giving to others through acts of kindness
  • Take Notice – by paying attention and being in the moment

  • Discuss the importance of using the web in Welsh.
  • State the barriers of Welsh speakers on the web and who are going to solve them.
  • Putting loads of Welsh language resources already available on the web, such as news, health and advertisement sites.
