Gypsies and Travellers Wales

Gypsies and Travellers Wales are a charity organisation formed in 1981, predominately operating in South Wales, aiming to support and enable Gypsies and Travellers in achieving a high quality and equitable standard of life. This includes safe, good quality accommodation, access and suitability of public services, increasing educational attainment, supporting confidence in finding employment, and challenging discriminatory behaviour and attitudes.

Conor Chipp, Digital Inclusion Adviser at Digital Communities Wales said “This work highlights how impactful digital inclusion can be when designed with the communities we’re hoping to help. Digital skills can be used to enhance and support educational needs in so many different contexts, including some that we may not consider without co-production. Working closely with the wonderful staff at Gypsies and Traveller’s Wales, and the resilient, honest and kind communities they support, has set a benchmark for reaching misrepresented demographics across Wales.”
